FCPACE – Filipino Canadian Parents Association in Catholic Education

Congratulations to the Filipino Canadian Parents Association in Catholic Education (FCPACE). After another delegation to the Board’s Student Achievement and Well -Being Committee last night where a young 10 year old Joshua sincerely presented why it is important to create a Filipino Advisory Committee to advise the Board on issues relating to Filipino speaking students in Catholic schools. Congratulations to Garry Tanuan ,Ward 8 Trustee who initiated and led this. For Sir Tony San Juan for untiringly pushed the FCPACE officers in pursuing this. Hats off to Ms. Lafayette for courageously speaking about her experience as a young student in Catholic schools. Praises to Mr. Oliveros, Mrs. Guiao, Mrs. Manrique and Mr. Galema who also presented and cited reasons for the creation of the Filipino Advisory Committee. The delegation was supported by the presence of Filipino community members and three trustee candidates: Paulina Corpuz (ward 12), Manuel Mendoza-Ching (ward 9) and Joey Abrenilla (ward 5). The Board finally approve to proceed to the next step of recruiting committee membership.
